When many customers are looking for a silicone factory to collaborate with, the most troublesome issue they face is not "can it be done", but "is this factory reliable or not".
Those with low quotations worry about the quality, while those with high quotations fear being overcharged; those who make good samples worry about the difference between samples and large-scale production; large factories worry about the slow process, and small factories worry about instability.
Today, from the perspective of customers, let's help you sort out: What exactly should we look at to determine whether a silicone factory is reliable or not?
1. Whether it is a "factory" or an "intermediary"
This is the most basic and also the most easily overlooked pitfall.
How to determine?
Look at the workshop. A genuine factory must have a production workshop and equipment. If the other party only shows you the office and sample room and doesn't allow you to see the workshop, you should be cautious.
Look at the equipment configuration. The production of silicone products involves multiple processes such as rubber mixing, molding, laser engraving, and spraying. Reliable factories will have corresponding molding equipment (such as compression machines, injection machines), rubber mixing equipment, and post-processing equipment. If the other party only has a few molding machines and all other processes are outsourced, the quality control ability will be greatly reduced.
Why look at this?
An intermediary does not produce products but only transmits orders. Once there is a quality problem, the intermediary cannot solve it at the source and can only pass the message back and forth, resulting in low efficiency and unclear responsibilities. Choosing a source factory makes communication more direct and quality more guaranteed.
2. Look at production management - Quality control is not achieved by slogans
Many factories claim that "our quality is very good", but when you see the workshop, the materials are messy, the operation is random, and there are no records. Quality control is not achieved by slogans, but by systems and processes.
How to determine?
Look at the workshop environment. Is the workshop clean and orderly? Is there oil and debris on the floor? Is the material placement neat? - A messy environment makes it difficult for product quality to be stable.
Look at how defective products are handled. Ask the other party: "What do you do when defective products occur during production?" Factories with a complete quality control system have records, analyses, and improvement measures for defective products, rather than secretly mixing them into the large-scale production.
Look at whether the original certificates for certifications can be presented. Many factories say "we have ISO certification" or "we have food-grade certification", but can they present the original valid certificates on the spot? - Saying there is and actually having are two different things.
3. Look at cooperation ability - Communication efficiency and response speed
During the cooperation process, smooth communication directly affects the project progress and final effect.
How to determine?
Look at the attitude during the first communication. Is the other party patient in understanding your needs or rushing to quote and urge you to place an order? - Reliable factories will first ask about your product usage, application scenarios, and quality requirements before giving suggestions.
Look at the cooperation level during the sample-making process. How is the cooperation when there are problems with the sample? Is the other party cooperative in modifying or does it resist and refuse?
Why look at this?
Cooperation ability determines whether the cooperation is smooth. Even the most skilled factory will encounter obstacles in project progress if communication is not smooth and the response is slow. Especially for projects that require repeated sample-making and modifications, cooperation ability is more important than technical ability.
